Hibiscus

Guess what? Another weekend is here!

For this weekend, I have decided to paint the Hibiscus. If you stop a while to admire this beautiful flower, you will notice that it is quite unique. It is not common to see many flowers with a long pistil that holds the stamen and stigma at the end.

The Hibiscus rosa-sinensis was declared the national flower of Malaysia on 28th July 1960.

Flame Of The Forest

Flame Of The Forest is the common name given to a few species of plants including the Butea which is native to both the Indian Subcontinent and South East Asia. We have them aplenty here in Malaysia.

I especially like the dark red colour of its flowers and that is what inspired me to paint it for you this week!

Canna

Here’s more flowers and for this week, I have chosen the Canna or Canna Lily because I like the vibrant colours on the flowers. I hope everyone is hunkering down and staying safe wherever you are!
